Vinh Pham is a Microbiologist working on diversifying AgBiome’s biologics portfolio. He holds a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Washington in Seattle, and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of California in Davis. His doctoral thesis analyzed genetic components required for morphological differentiation and predation by the soil bacterium Myxococcus xanthus. For his postdoctoral training, Vinh utilized metagenomics to examine uncultured microbial assemblages in pelagic and subsurface environments with Dr. Edward DeLong at M.I.T. Thereafter, he worked at startup companies in the bioenergy sector, where he applied microbiological solutions for enhancing oil recovery from mature reservoirs and for converting renewable lignocellulosic materials to biofuels. Vinh enthusiastically endorses the dog-friendly culture at AgBiome.
